A call has gone out to Comhaltas members and to céilí/setdancers worldwide to honour Donncha by dancing those wonderful céilí and set dances he loved so well and to organise a céili and setdance night during the month of March. FRANKIE KENNEDY WINTER SCHOOL
Wednesday, 26 December 2007 until Tuesday 1 January 2008 (dates tbc) in Gaoth Dobhair, Co Donegal. Classes include flute, fiddle, uilleann pipes, tin whistle, bodhrán, button accordion, sean nós singing, house dancing and accompaniment (guitar/bouzouki). The Frankie Kennedy Winter School was established in December 1994 following Frankie's untimely death from cancer in September of that year. The school's vision is to continue his huge contribution to Irish traditional music, especially the music and song of Donegal.
