2ND ANNIVERSARY OF THE DEATH OF DONNCHA Ó MUÍNEACHÁIN

The Branch propose to offer members an opportunity to honour Donncha's life by hosting a night of music, song and dance in Na Fianna Clubhouse, Mobhi Rd., Glasnevin on Friday, 2nd Márta commencing at 7.30 pm. Light refreshments will be available.

Donncha Ó Muíneacháin International Commemorative Céilí
A call has gone out to Comhaltas members and to céilí/setdancers worldwide to honour Donncha by dancing those wonderful céilí and set dances he loved so well and to organise a céili and setdance night during the month of March. The call came from Brian Doyle and Mary Murphy and other organisers of the Dublin Céilí, which will take place in Naomh Mearnóg GAA Club, Portmarnock, Co. Dublin on Saturday 24th Márta.

    FRANKIE KENNEDY WINTER SCHOOL
    Wednesday, 26 December 2007 until Tuesday 1 January 2008 (dates tbc) in Gaoth Dobhair, Co Donegal. Classes include flute, fiddle, uilleann pipes, tin whistle, bodhrán, button accordion, sean nós singing, house dancing and accompaniment (guitar/bouzouki). The Frankie Kennedy Winter School was established in December 1994 following Frankie's untimely death from cancer in September of that year. The school's vision is to continue his huge contribution to Irish traditional music, especially the music and song of Donegal.
