About Us
Craobh Sean Treacy was founded in the Spring of 1970 in Moran's Hotel (now O'Shea's Hotel) at the junction of Talbot Street and Gardiner St, Dublin,having been in operation as a music club called " An Beinsin Luachra" during the previous Six months.
Founder members were:
Michael O'hAlmhain (Chairman)
Tomas Glacain, Helena Rowsome, Antoin McGabhain, Padraig O Murchu, Donncha O Muineachain, Padraig O Glacain, Proinseas Ni Dhorcai, John Regan, Michael O Branain, Seamus O Cearuil, Mary Bergin, Jim Brody, Brid Bergin, Sean Haverty.
It was decided to name the branch "Craobh Sean Treacy" in honour of the Irish Patriot Sean Treacy, a native of Co. Tipperary who was shot dead on the 14th of October 1920 outside Speidel's Porkshop ,94 Talbot street, a short distance from the founding venue.

Craobh Sean Treacy is a branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann based in the northside of Dublin, (around the Artane area). This year we celebrate 40 years in existence.
