Branch CD

"Idir an Dá Linn"

On the 16th of August 2000, the launch of the Branch CD "Idir an Dá Linn" took place in O'Shea's Merchant, Dublin.

Purpose of the recording

As a Millennium Project the Branch Committee decided to produce a CD as a permanent record of the talent - music, song and dance within the current Branch membership, spanning the 30 year period from it's foundation to the present time. The recording, apart from solo and family items, features tracks performed by groups of all ages - 12 years and younger, under 15, under 18 and over 18. The youngest performer is 7 years old and the oldest is over 70! Approximately 55 people participated in the recording. We have no doubt that judging from this recording, our younger performers will play an important role in the preservation of our native Irish culture in the future.

The recording , "Idir an Dá Linn" also available on audio cassette, was produced by Colm Keane.

The sleeve cover was designed by then 15 year-old Branch member Emer Hanley who plays fiddle and concertina on some of the tracks.

The recording is almost 72 minutes in duration and there are 21 tracks.
